WE ARE TAHOE, 2015

After working on so many other peoples' projects, I needed something to refuel my soul. This is that. A little passion project I call, "We Are Tahoe." A mashup from many sources, including my own footage, custom remixed audio, with rights granted by the producer, Gramatik - who I saw at Wanderlust Tahoe in 2014.

As I listened to the track, I visualized the video and the rest is history. 

I began regularly visiting Tahoe as a teen with my local ski club, Tioga. Then life happened and I rarely got back up. A decade would pass until time and resources afforded me the opportunity to get back into the Tahoe lifestyle. Over the last several years, I've worked with dozens of Tahoe based companies - large and small including most ski resorts, the Tahoe Fund, the Tahoe City Chamber of Commerce, Sustainable Tahoe, Olympic Bikes, and many others.

I worked as a volunteer for production and shot from the upper balcony with four other camera operators. Afterwards, I edited this.

Aligned brings dance into the air. Artistic director Tresa Honaker shares her story of the creation of this group and how it continues to thrive despite an injury causing her to become paralyzed from the waist down. Unlike traditional circus performers, AirAligned members are high-level athletes, who are formally trained dancers, acrobats and martial artists, using trapeze, lyra, bungee, straps and aerial fabric in their performances. The group has received additional training in the aerial arts from Ingrid Hoffman, Hollywood Aerial Arts and Cirque LA in Los Angeles, Trapeze Arts in Oakland and San Francisco Circus Center. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
