What is Google Juice?
From Techopedia.com:
“Google Juice,” is a colloquial term for visibility and prominence from the Google search algorithm PageRank and associated traffic on a website. A site that has more “Google juice” shows up more prolifically on top page rankings.
Google juice should not be confused with Google Guice (pronounced the same), an open-source Google tool for Java.
It’s that simple, but executing and achieving a top rank on Google is not always that easy. Here are the key things that I’ve done to ensure a top ranking using best practices as published by Google’s Search Engine Optimization guide.
My TOP 10 SEO “To-Do’s”
- Let Google know which pages to crawl, and which to ignore such as a privacy or form page.
- Run a site check to see if your website is indexed by Google. The format is “site:yourdomain.com“
- Create unique and meaningful page titles and NEVER use the same page title more than once.
- Create good snippets that describe the content of each page you want indexed.
- Use the “description” meta tag
- Use the “Heading” tag to emphasize the key concept of each page.
- Avoid excessive and lengthy use of the “Heading” tag
- Check your markup using Google’s Rich Results
- Keep your navigation logical and as “clean,” as possible.
- Keep your URLs as descriptive, short, and simple as possible.
